Common Problem of Feeling Sleepy After Lunch?


There are many people who feel sleepy after lunch? Therefore for those people we have suggested some simple tips which will help you to stay at your sharpest even after your meal. This complete is very common for office goers.

Why do you feel tired after lunch?
 There are varieties of factors which can cause you to feel sleepy after lunch in office.

1.  Actually it is depended on what foods you eat as it decide your energy level.  It is found that some food helps to boost your energy and some can zap it out. The studies say that junk food, sugary food or fatty food can make you feel sluggish and sleepy. The main reason behind this is, these types of foods increase your blood sugar level which makes your body to release more insulin which triggers tryptophan. Tryptophan is a type of amino acid, which is known for producing brain messengers or neurotransmitters which makes you sleep and relax. 

2. Have you been getting sufficient rest?
It is really essential for you to have adequate rest at night as it will not make you sleep in between the day. If you are very stressful and have sleepless nights then it is obvious that you will feel sleepy during the day. Therefore try to get at least 6 -7 hours of sleep every day. 

3. Sometimes even if you are eating healthy and having proper sleep you could be suffering from an illness. This can become a reason for feeling sleepy in between the day. Thus low fitness levels and diseases can also make you feel sleepy, so take care of your health and also have a proper treatment from your doctor against the illness. 

 Following are some tips that will make you feel energetic after your lunch. 
1. Watch what you eat:  
Avoid junk food. Make a limit on carbohydrate containing food and increase the foods which contain high protein in your diet. In other words avoid potatoes, white rice and pasta form your lunch and include sprouts, beans and cabbage in your lunch.  Keep your meal portions small as it will digest quickly. We all know that large meals require ore effort in order to digest.

2. Save the alcohol for the weekend: 
It you have to attain an office party and after that you have to join your work back then at such times try to have only one glass of wine or beer, as too much of its consumption will make you sleepy when you go to your work again. Therefore it will be better to make a limit on the consumption of alcohol in office time. 

3. Take a little walk after lunch:
Do not forget to have a walk after taking your lunch, as fresh air and some physical activity makes you feel active and refresh. Apart from this it also helps you to get rid form your laziness.  Therefore it is a good way to include some activity in your daily schedule and more especially if your job involves sitting in one place. 

4. Minimize the intake of caffeine:
 We all know that coffee helps to feel active, but more coffee intake will affect your immune system. Therefore make a limit on the intake of coffee and switch to water as in an air conditioned office people don’t feel thirsty which makes their body dehydrating.  

5. Make sure you have breakfast
 One cannot stress enough therefore it is essential to have breakfast. According to studies the people who have healthy breakfast are mentally as well as physically more active than those who not have regular healthy breakfast. 

Therefore it may be hard for you to include all these changes in your lifestyle. But I would like you to try it as will magnify your energy levels significantly. So if you suffering from this problem then try above tips.
