Before starting your fitness routine, it is important to consult your doctor or have a fitness test at a local gym to determine your current level of fitness and what level you want to achieve. You should not aim too high and set realistic targets that are achievable. Here are 4 basic components that you should use in your fitness program.

Strength Training: This is a kind of activity that is often ignored by most people, especially women. Strength training is extremely important to tone the muscles and allow the fat to be burned. 

Stretching: Proper stretching prevents your body from injuries. Regular stretching exercise over a period of time allows the muscles to be supple, thereby helping you to recover after a hard workout session. Stretching exercise should be performed for about 5-7 minutes before and after workout.

Speed and Agility: This can be gained by constantly repeating exercises and it will allow your body to constantly improve.

Cardiovascular Endurance: This involves working on the heart and thus it is the most important component of fitness. The main function of your heart is to pump blood to all parts of the body and improving the respiratory system will make it easier for your heart to pump more oxygen rich blood, thus preventing muscle fatigue.
